The Devil Dinosaur was originally a T-Rex living on the Savage Land, until he was captured by the High Evolutionary. Instead of performing his usual experiments with giving animals human intelligence, shape, and speech, the High Evolutionary to give the T-Rex mental abilities as well as average human intelligence.
The experiment proved partially successful as the T-Rex was enhanced physically, as well as mentally, with the addition of possessing limited telepathic abilities. The dinosaur now designated Devil Dinosaur was eventually released back into the wild where he is eventually found by the man named Ka-Zar and becomes one of his most powerful allies.
