Granitor

Granitor was one of the highest-ranking members of a race of alien gargoyles. He came to Earth in the late 20th century in a search for the Space-Stone. His efforts were foiled due to the intervention of SHIELD who kept his existence "classified". Granitor was kept at an off-site facility for years under study and experimented on. But when SHIELD fell, HYDRA seized control of Granitor's prison and tried to take control of the monster. However, Granitor overwhelmed the HYDRA soldiers sent to contain him and nearly escaped, until the HYDRA-Commander Tomi Shishido used his powers to literally turn the gargoyle to stone and watched him fall to the ground and crumble to dust.

Powers and Abilities

Stonians are silicon-based life forms whose bodies are comprised of a veritable living granite. Gorgolla had enhanced strength, durability and was well-nigh invulnerable. He could also fly by way of a pair of large, bat-like wings.
