Jane Foster was an American astrophysicist, who studied strange activities in New Mexico, where she met the Asgardian prince Thor. She later assisted the Asgardian in once again becoming worthy of his hammer, at which point they formed a relationship.
After years apart Jane tried to move on from Thor, but when he returned she began to forgive him. Thor then discovered that Jane was exposed to the Reality Stone while looking for Thor. Thor then brought her back to Asgard, where it was later attacked by the Dark Elves. The Reality Stone was removed by Malekith, after Jane was moved to the "Dark World" to lead the Dark Elves into a trap. The trap was a failure and afterwards Jane and Thor returned to Earth to stop Malekith. After they succeeded Thor declined the throne and returned to Earth to be with Jane.
Years later after Thor was killed during the Infinity War, Jane attempted to lift Thor's hammer. During this she gained the abilities of an Asgardian and received "the power of Thor", or in this case Thordis.
